Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session, which included the work Making inoffensive magic in your house by Chloe Wise. The »bidding war« ended at USD 69,300.00 (€ 64,579.26), 16% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chloe Wise - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Above all things, be glad, and young, and relatively irreplaceable, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 144,900.00 (€ 135,029.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Making inoffensive magic in your house von Chloe Wise zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 69.300,00 (€ 64.579,26) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Chloe Wise mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Above all things, be glad, and young, and relatively irreplaceable beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 144.900,00 (€ 135.029,35) versteigert wurde.
