This artwork by Chen Fei achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year. In the 21st Century Art Day Sale auction, the work My Airbag is Opened sold for HKD 2,520,000.00 (€ 299,178.08) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Fei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Left Fist Has No Strength, which sold at auction in May 2021 for HKD 7,210,000.00 (€ 762,152.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chen Fei erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 21st Century Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit My Airbag is Opened für HKD 2.520.000,00 (€ 299.178,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Chen Fei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Left Fist Has No Strength beobachtet, die im Mai 2021 für HKD 7.210.000,00 (€ 762.152,70) versteigert wurde.
