Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Life is Porn by Chen Fei. It changed hands for a price of HKD 2,032,000.00 (€ 245,732.02) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 1,200,000.00 – 2,200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Fei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Left Fist Has No Strength, which sold at auction in May 2021 for HKD 7,210,000.00 (€ 762,152.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Phillips in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Life is Porn von Chen Fei zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 2.032.000,00 (€ 245.732,02) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 1.200.000,00 – 2.200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Chen Fei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Left Fist Has No Strength beobachtet, die im Mai 2021 für HKD 7.210.000,00 (€ 762.152,70) versteigert wurde.
