Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Chen Chengbo could be acquired at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections auction, the work Shanghai Ferry Pier changed hands for HKD 1,250,000.00 (€ 141,084.52) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Chengbo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunset at Danshui in November 2007 with an auction result of HKD 50,727,500.00 (€ 4,434,511.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chen Chengbo konnte im November 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections wechselte die Arbeit Shanghai Ferry Pier für HKD 1.250.000,00 (€ 141.084,52) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 1.500.000,00 – 2.500.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Chengbo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sunset at Danshui im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 50.727.500,00 (€ 4.434.511,85).
