Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2014 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Asian Art — Evening Sale, which included the work Maobitou Cape (The Sound Of The Waves) by Chen Chengbo. The price achieved of HKD 6,040,000.00 (€ 621,835.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 5,000,000.00 – 8,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Chen Chengbo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunset at Danshui in November 2007 with an auction result of HKD 50,727,500.00 (€ 4,434,511.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2014 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Asian Art — Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Maobitou Cape (The Sound Of The Waves) von Chen Chengbo zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 6.040.000,00 (€ 621.835,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 5.000.000,00 – 8.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chen Chengbo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunset at Danshui im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 50.727.500,00 (€ 4.434.511,85).
