Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work 'Undine Receiving her Soul' by Chauncey Bradley Ives. It changed hands for a price of USD 115,000.00 (€ 78,295.21) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chauncey Bradley Ives - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Undine Receives Her (Mortal) Soul', which sold at auction in May 2004 for USD 276,300.00 (€ 226,160.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Undine Receiving her Soul' von Chauncey Bradley Ives zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 115.000,00 (€ 78.295,21) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Chauncey Bradley Ives mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Undine Receives Her (Mortal) Soul' beobachtet, die im Mai 2004 für USD 276.300,00 (€ 226.160,27) versteigert wurde.
