In May 2004 Christies in New York held the auction Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work 'Undine Receives Her (Mortal) Soul' by Chauncey Bradley Ives. Here, the upper estimate of USD 250,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 276,300.00 (€ 226,160.27). With this result, 'Undine Receives Her (Mortal) Soul' is even the most expensive work of art by Chauncey Bradley Ives that we have observed at auctions so far.
