It achieved a price of USD 50,400.00 (€ 40,813.02), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 68%. Admittedly, works by Chauncey Bradley Ives have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Undine Receives Her (Mortal) Soul' in May 2004 with an auction result of USD 276,300.00 (€ 226,160.27).

Die Arbeit 'Ariadne' von Chauncey Bradley Ives kam im Mai 2005 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 50.400,00 (€ 40.813,02) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 68%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chauncey Bradley Ives auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Undine Receives Her (Mortal) Soul' im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 276.300,00 (€ 226.160,27).
