Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2018 Christies in New York held the auction American Art Online, which included the work Portrait of a Little Girl by Charles Webster Hawthorne. The price achieved of USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,071.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Webster Hawthorne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portuguese Fisherboy in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 298,000.00 (€ 271,056.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a Little Girl von Charles Webster Hawthorne zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.875,00 (€ 6.071,71) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Webster Hawthorne erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portuguese Fisherboy im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 298.000,00 (€ 271.056,94).
