Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Little Dora by Charles Webster Hawthorne for USD 27,500.00 (€ 25,997.35). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Webster Hawthorne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portuguese Fisherboy in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 298,000.00 (€ 271,056.94).
