The work Leisure time by Charles van den Eycken was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2016. It achieved a price of EUR 8,125.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35 %. Admittedly, works by Charles van den Eycken have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mischief in October 2004 with an auction result of USD 59,750.00 (€ 46,877.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Leisure time von Charles van den Eycken kam im Mai 2016 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 8.125,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 35 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles van den Eycken auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mischief im Oktober 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 59.750,00 (€ 46.877,45).
