Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Kittens at Play by Charles van den Eycken was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2013. The price achieved of USD 26,250.00 (€ 19,934.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles van den Eycken - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mischief, which sold at auction in October 2004 for USD 59,750.00 (€ 46,877.45).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 26.250,00 (€ 19.934,69) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles van den Eycken mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mischief beobachtet, die im Oktober 2004 für USD 59.750,00 (€ 46.877,45) versteigert wurde.
