Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Belgian cats At Play by Charles van den Eycken. The price achieved of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,684.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles van den Eycken have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mischief in October 2004 with an auction result of USD 59,750.00 (€ 46,877.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Belgian cats At Play von Charles van den Eycken zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 6.684,53) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles van den Eycken auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mischief im Oktober 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 59.750,00 (€ 46.877,45).
