The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,645.84) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles van den Eycken have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mischief in October 2004 with an auction result of USD 59,750.00 (€ 46,877.45).

Die Arbeit The Torn Canvas von Charles van den Eycken kam im Februar 2013 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 7.645,84) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles van den Eycken auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mischief im Oktober 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 59.750,00 (€ 46.877,45).
