Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Charles van den Eycken achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in February 2018. In the Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art auction, the work Belgian three Watchful Kittens sold for USD 25,000.00 (€ 20,473.34) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles van den Eycken - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mischief, which sold at auction in October 2004 for USD 59,750.00 (€ 46,877.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles van den Eycken erzielte im Februar 2018 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art wurde die Arbeit Belgian three Watchful Kittens für USD 25.000,00 (€ 20.473,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles van den Eycken mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mischief beobachtet, die im Oktober 2004 für USD 59.750,00 (€ 46.877,45) versteigert wurde.
