Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cattle By A River, Evening by Charles Towne was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2013. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,504.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Towne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A bay hunter and three pointers in a landscape with Lyston Hall beyond in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 138,650.00 (€ 214,460.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cattle By A River, Evening von Charles Towne kam im November 2013 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.504,21) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Towne erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A bay hunter and three pointers in a landscape with Lyston Hall beyond im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 138.650,00 (€ 214.460,15).
