Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cattle By A River, Evening by Charles Towne was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2013. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,504.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Towne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A bay hunter and three pointers in a landscape with Lyston Hall beyond in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 138,650.00 (€ 214,460.15).
