Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2007 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental & Russian Pictures & Prints, which included the work Grapes, peaches and apricots on a table; and Dead game and fruit on a table by Charles Thomas Bale. The price achieved of GBP 660.00 (€ 980.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Thomas Bale have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pineapples, Grapes, Plums and Pears on a Silver Tray with a Jar on a Draped Wooden Ledge in February 2003 with an auction result of USD 7,170.00 (€ 6,651.82).
