Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The day's bag; and Apples, grapes, plums, a pumpkin and jug on a wooden bench by Charles Thomas Bale was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,000.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Thomas Bale have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pineapples, Grapes, Plums and Pears on a Silver Tray with a Jar on a Draped Wooden Ledge in February 2003 with an auction result of USD 7,170.00 (€ 6,651.82).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 1.000,57) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
