Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Confiscation by Charles Thomas Bale was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2005. The price achieved of GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,097.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Thomas Bale - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pineapples, Grapes, Plums and Pears on a Silver Tray with a Jar on a Draped Wooden Ledge, which sold at auction in February 2003 for USD 7,170.00 (€ 6,651.82).
