This work of art by Charles Marion Russell could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in November 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work The Stage Ahead Of Us Had Been Attacked By Indians And Burned (Indian Attack) changed hands for USD 225,000.00 (€ 204,192.76) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Marion Russell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Meat for the Tribe in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 1,472,000.00 (€ 1,243,033.27).
