Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Judith Round Up at Sage Creek by Charles Marion Russell was sold in the Western Art auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 108,450.00 (€ 99,422.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Marion Russell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Meat for the Tribe in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 1,472,000.00 (€ 1,243,033.27).
