Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles Marion Russell could be acquired at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Collection of G. Andrew Bjurman auction, the work Native American figure on a horse sight 16 3/4 x 13 1/2 in. framed 26 x 22 1/2 in. changed hands for USD 69,675.00 (€ 67,494.91) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Marion Russell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Meat for the Tribe in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 1,472,000.00 (€ 1,243,033.27).
