Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2024 Christies in New York held the auction 19th Century American & Western Art, which included the work The Horse Wrangler by Charles Marion Russell. The price achieved of USD 201,600.00 (€ 176,192.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Marion Russell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Meat for the Tribe in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 1,472,000.00 (€ 1,243,033.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2024 führte Christies in New York die Auktion 19th Century American & Western Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Horse Wrangler von Charles Marion Russell zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 201.600,00 (€ 176.192,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Marion Russell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Meat for the Tribe im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.472.000,00 (€ 1.243.033,27).
