The price achieved of USD 500,000.00 (€ 453,761.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Marion Russell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Meat for the Tribe, which sold at auction in December 2005 for USD 1,472,000.00 (€ 1,243,033.27).
