Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La lecture by Charles-Joseph-Frédéric Soulacroix was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Christies in New York in October 2005. The price achieved of USD 22,800.00 (€ 19,007.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles-Joseph-Frédéric Soulacroix achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Three for tea in April 2000 with an auction result of GBP 201,750.00 (€ 345,387.83).

Die Arbeit La lecture von Charles-Joseph-Frédéric Soulacroix wurde im Oktober 2005 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 22.800,00 (€ 19.007,92) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles-Joseph-Frédéric Soulacroix erzielen.
