Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Study For "Rottingdean" by Charles Ginner was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,388.94). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Ginner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Corner in Chelsea in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 79,250.00 (€ 97,737.26).
