Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles Courtney Curran could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Twilight changed hands for USD 5,938.00 (€ 4,217.03) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Courtney Curran achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ladies on a Hill in April 2002 with an auction result of USD 207,500.00 (€ 230,504.33).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles Courtney Curran konnte im September 2008 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Twilight für USD 5.938,00 (€ 4.217,03) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Courtney Curran erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ladies on a Hill im April 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 207.500,00 (€ 230.504,33).
