Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles Courtney Curran could be acquired at Christies in New York in September 2009 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings auction, the work Boulders on Bear Cliff (The Conference) changed hands for USD 5,625.00 (€ 3,844.84) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Courtney Curran achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ladies on a Hill in April 2002 with an auction result of USD 207,500.00 (€ 230,504.33).
