Auction result well in line with expectations
The work British Vetheuil by Charles Conder was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in November 2008. The price achieved of AUD 66,000.00 (€ 34,034.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 55,000.00 – 75,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Conder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British the Fatal Colors in August 2008 with an auction result of AUD 702,000.00 (€ 409,791.12).
