Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2008 Sothebys in Milan held the auction Contemporary Art 1953-2003, A Private Collection, which included the work Senza Titolo by Charles Avery. The price achieved of EUR 4,750.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Avery have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (IMIM; Ray (detail)) in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 14,375.00 (€ 20,107.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2008 führte Sothebys in Mailand die Auktion Contemporary Art 1953-2003, A Private Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Senza Titolo von Charles Avery zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 4.750,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Avery auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (IMIM; Ray (detail)) im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 14.375,00 (€ 20.107,03).
