Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A Darkness That Conceals Only Itself by Charles Avery was sold in the Contemporary Art 1953-2003, A Private Collection auction at Sothebys in Milan in April 2008. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 7,450.00 24% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Avery - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (IMIM; Ray (detail)), which sold at auction in October 2015 for GBP 14,375.00 (€ 20,107.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A Darkness That Conceals Only Itself von Charles Avery wurde im April 2008 in der Auktion Contemporary Art 1953-2003, A Private Collection bei Sothebys in Mailand versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 7.450,00 und damit 24% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Avery mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (IMIM; Ray (detail)) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für GBP 14.375,00 (€ 20.107,03) versteigert wurde.
