It achieved a price of GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,316.96), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 30%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Augustus Henry Lutyens - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Putti disporting in the clouds, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,761.47).
