In July 2008 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work The start of the race by Charles Augustus Henry Lutyens. The result of GBP 500.00 (€ 635.26) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Augustus Henry Lutyens have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Putti disporting in the clouds in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,761.47).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit The start of the race von Charles Augustus Henry Lutyens zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 500,00 (€ 635,26) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Augustus Henry Lutyens auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Putti disporting in the clouds im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.525,00 (€ 5.761,47).
