Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work A View Of Newark Castle, Selkirkshire by Charles Augustus Henry Lutyens for GBP 625.00 (€ 755.67). This price was achieved in the auction A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Charles Augustus Henry Lutyens have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Putti disporting in the clouds in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,761.47).
