In March 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work Putti Disporting With A Fish In A Seascape by Charles Augustus Henry Lutyens. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,235.20), 56% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Augustus Henry Lutyens - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Putti disporting in the clouds, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,761.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 56 % übertroffen
Im März 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Putti Disporting With A Fish In A Seascape von Charles Augustus Henry Lutyens zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.560,00 (€ 2.235,20) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Augustus Henry Lutyens mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Putti disporting in the clouds beobachtet, die im November 2000 für GBP 3.525,00 (€ 5.761,47) versteigert wurde.
