Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mon fils by Chana Orloff was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,414.36). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chana Orloff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Torse in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 326,500.00 (€ 250,960.80).
