Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by César Paternosto could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Latin American Art auction, the work Sahuite Ii changed hands for USD 13,750.00 (€ 8,836.76) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 18,000.00 – 22,000.00. Admittedly, works by César Paternosto have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Riff in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 93,750.00 (€ 84,088.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von César Paternosto konnte im Mai 2008 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Latin American Art wechselte die Arbeit Sahuite Ii für USD 13.750,00 (€ 8.836,76) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 18.000,00 – 22.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von César Paternosto auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Riff im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 93.750,00 (€ 84.088,26).
