This artwork by Cesar Legaspi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2010. In the Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art auction, the work Tree Planting sold for HKD 596,000.00 (€ 58,886.78) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00. Admittedly, works by Cesar Legaspi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ginintuang Mayo (Golden Spring) in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 2,200,000.00 (€ 254,279.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cesar Legaspi erzielte im November 2010 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Tree Planting für HKD 596.000,00 (€ 58.886,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 200.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cesar Legaspi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ginintuang Mayo (Golden Spring) im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.200.000,00 (€ 254.279,30).
