Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Cesar Legaspi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year. In the 20th Century Art Day Sale auction, the work Crucifixion sold for HKD 945,000.00 (€ 113,244.53) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cesar Legaspi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ginintuang Mayo (Golden Spring), which sold at auction in May 2016 for HKD 2,200,000.00 (€ 254,279.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cesar Legaspi erzielte im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Crucifixion für HKD 945.000,00 (€ 113.244,53) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 350.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Cesar Legaspi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ginintuang Mayo (Golden Spring) beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für HKD 2.200.000,00 (€ 254.279,30) versteigert wurde.
