Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Abstract by Cesar Legaspi was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in October 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 135,000.00 – 180,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 131,450.00 (€ 17,054.84). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cesar Legaspi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ginintuang Mayo (Golden Spring) in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 2,200,000.00 (€ 254,279.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Abstract von Cesar Legaspi im Oktober 2002 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 135.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 131.450,00 (€ 17.054,84) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cesar Legaspi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ginintuang Mayo (Golden Spring) im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.200.000,00 (€ 254.279,30).
