This artwork by Cecily Brown achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in July this year. In the First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online auction, the work without title sold for GBP 30,240.00 (€ 35,280.91) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cecily Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (The Beautiful and Damned) in May this year with an auction result of USD 6,705,000.00 (€ 6,293,410.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cecily Brown erzielte im Juli diesen Jahres bei Christies in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für GBP 30.240,00 (€ 35.280,91) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cecily Brown erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (The Beautiful and Damned) im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.705.000,00 (€ 6.293.410,93).
