A top price for Cecily Brown - as previously expected
In May this year Christies in New York held the auction 21st Century Evening Sale, which included the work Untitled (The Beautiful and Damned) by Cecily Brown. It changed hands for a price of USD 6,705,000.00 (€ 6,293,410.93) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 5,000,000.00 – 7,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Untitled (The Beautiful and Damned) is the most expensive artwork by Cecily Brown that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion 21st Century Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (The Beautiful and Damned) von Cecily Brown zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 6.705.000,00 (€ 6.293.410,93) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000.000,00 – 7.000.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Untitled (The Beautiful and Damned) das teuerste Kunstwerk von Cecily Brown, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
