Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Figures in a Garden by Cecily Brown was sold in the 21st Century Evening Sale auction at Christies in New York in November this year. The price achieved of USD 2,712,000.00 (€ 2,486,248.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cecily Brown - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (The Beautiful and Damned), which sold at auction in May this year for USD 6,705,000.00 (€ 6,293,410.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Figures in a Garden von Cecily Brown wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion 21st Century Evening Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.712.000,00 (€ 2.486.248,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Cecily Brown mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (The Beautiful and Damned) beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für USD 6.705.000,00 (€ 6.293.410,93) versteigert wurde.
