Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Christies in London held the auction 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale, which included the work Kiss Me Stupid by Cecily Brown. The price achieved of GBP 3,549,000.00 (€ 4,130,425.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000,000.00 – 5,000,000.00. Other works by Cecily Brown have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May this year the work Untitled (The Beautiful and Damned) was auctioned for USD 6,705,000.00 (€ 6,293,410.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Kiss Me Stupid von Cecily Brown zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.549.000,00 (€ 4.130.425,00) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000.000,00 – 5.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Cecily Brown konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai diesen Jahres die Arbeit Untitled (The Beautiful and Damned) für USD 6.705.000,00 (€ 6.293.410,93) versteigert.
