Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Cecil de Blaquiere Howard could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Seated Female Nude changed hands for USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,123.09) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Cecil de Blaquiere Howard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Heavyweight Boxer' in May 2003 with an auction result of USD 31,070.00 (€ 26,406.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cecil de Blaquiere Howard konnte im März 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit Seated Female Nude für USD 6.875,00 (€ 6.123,09) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cecil de Blaquiere Howard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Heavyweight Boxer' im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 31.070,00 (€ 26.406,60).
