Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Cecil Charles Windsor Aldin could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the A Sporting Garland: Works by Cecil Aldin auction, the work A couple with their pug outside the Circulating Library and Hienemann Bookseller changed hands for GBP 500.00 (€ 604.54) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cecil Charles Windsor Aldin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work J. Ashton Radcliffe, M.F.H., Hunting with the South Dorset Hunt in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 37,000.00 (€ 25,190.63).
