Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Surfers by Catherine Opie was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in New York in April last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 8,190.00 (€ 7,772.61). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Catherine Opie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Surfer for One Drop in September 2018 with an auction result of USD 264,000.00 (€ 227,155.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Surfers von Catherine Opie wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 8.190,00 (€ 7.772,61) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Catherine Opie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Surfer for One Drop im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 264.000,00 (€ 227.155,39).
