Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Made in CaliforniaPhotographs, which included the work 'Frankie' by Catherine Opie. The »bidding war« ended at USD 7,040.00 (€ 6,364.13), 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Catherine Opie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Surfer for One Drop in September 2018 with an auction result of USD 264,000.00 (€ 227,155.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Made in CaliforniaPhotographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Frankie' von Catherine Opie zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 7.040,00 (€ 6.364,13) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Catherine Opie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Surfer for One Drop im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 264.000,00 (€ 227.155,39).
