Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Light Bridge from the series New Architectures by Carlos Garaicoa was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,731.32). Admittedly, works by Carlos Garaicoa have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (from the series New Architectures) in September 2010 with an auction result of USD 56,250.00 (€ 41,357.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Light Bridge from the series New Architectures von Carlos Garaicoa im September 2019 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.731,32) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carlos Garaicoa auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (from the series New Architectures) im September 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 56.250,00 (€ 41.357,25).
