In December 2006 Phillips in New York held the auction Saturday@Phillips, which included the work The pains of Sleep #2 by Carl Ostendarp. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,080.00 (€ 818.37), 54% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl Ostendarp - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Double Barrel, which sold at auction in July 2005 for USD 2,400.00 (€ 1,978.73).

Im Dezember 2006 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Saturday@Phillips durch, in der auch die Arbeit The pains of Sleep #2 von Carl Ostendarp zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.080,00 (€ 818,37) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Carl Ostendarp mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Double Barrel beobachtet, die im Juli 2005 für USD 2.400,00 (€ 1.978,73) versteigert wurde.
